Think the Best of People

It sounds so simple but the reality is hard to accomplish:

Think the best of people.

A great, consistent and stubborn effort must consciously be taken for it to happen.

No matter what assumptions and conclusions your mind chooses to draw,

Think the best of people.

No matter how the whispers in your ear try to twist their actions and intentions,

Think the best of people.

If you must jump to conclusions, leap to the best possible one and

Think the best of people.

Rather than read in between the lines and find a possible negative reality,

Think the best of people.

Take people at their best and assume only the most pure and good intentions.

Think the best of people.

Next time someone says something which could be taken personally, which could be taken to hurt you,

Think the best of people.

Choose to assume that nobody ever means to hurt you, choose to believe that they mean well.

Even if and when people disappoint you; persist and never let it make you stop

Thinking the best of people.

Defend people against those who assume badly, be better than those and believe better.

Think the best of people.

Isn’t it better to believe in good and believe that people at least can be good?

The alternative is grim and even if it is the truth, choosing to believe in good will surely make you happier, will surely make you choose to do more good for other people.

Think the best of people and think the best of yourself.

Imagine, for a brief second, what the world would be like if every single person chose to think the best of people; about everyone, regardless of race, religion, beliefs or culture… wouldn’t that be nice.

One of my teachers gave some amazing advice. She said b4 u allow yourself to think bad of someone, first find 99 good excuses for them. After you finish find 99, if you still believe that they were wrong and think badly of them. Its fine. But don’t allow yourself to think bad unless and until you finish find 99 excuses for them.
