The Blue Sky Tag

I was nominated for this tag by Shukrallah Blog who is another Scottish Muslimah and she writes extremely thoughtful and lovely reminders. I highly recommend reading her blog and always enjoy her posts myself.

The rules for the tag are as follows:-

* Answer the 11 questions given to you.

* Nominate and tag 11 people.

* Give 11 questions for your nominees.

Here are my answers to Larissa’s questions:

1. Who inspires you?

I get inspired by so many people I come into contact with. All of my family and friends inspire me in their own way. My husband inspires me. When I hear about people going through extreme hardships yet they endure so patiently and their faith only gets stronger, that really inspires me.

2. How do you feel about Ramadan approaching?

I feel very excited. It will be my third Ramadan as a Muslim insha’Allah. I did fast before that a few times with my Muslim friends but obviously it’s not the same. This Ramadan is going to be hard with the shifts I work but I hope I will be able to make the most of it insha’Allah.

3. Where is your favourite place to go on a weekday afternoon when you have no plans or obligations?

My husband and I love to go exploring. Loch Lomond is a favourite and Dumbarton Castle; they both have stunning views. When we have the time we go further afield. Any kind of natural and peaceful place.

4. What is your talent?

I would like to think that writing is my talent but that’s really not for me to say – it certainly is my passion though.

5. Choose an inspiration quote that always picks you up.

Ayat from the Qur’an or ahadith are the quotes that really pick me up. One example would be:

“And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him.” Qur’an 65:3

6. Which would be harder to give up, tea or coffee?

Definitely tea. I don’t drink coffee very often whereas I drink several cups of tea a day.

7. Is there a book or documentary that really changed the way you thought about something?

This is a great question. The most recent book I read which changed the way I thought was ‘The Book Thief.” The reason it changed the way I thought was that it really filled a gap from what I had learnt at school about the second world war – I did not learn any detail about what life in Germany was like. You find yourself judging the people who lived in that era for allowing everything that happened to happen. However this book was a really valuable insight into what life was like for Germans and how many of them were oppressed and forced to do things because of the grip the Nazis had on everything. Highly recommend reading it.

8. What’s more important to you, your home or your career?

Although I do like my career as a nurse and it can be very rewarding, it’s also very draining – emotionally and physically. Overall, I would say it is more important to me to have energy and time for my home life, especially when I have children insha’Allah.

9. How long have you been blogging for?

I’ve been blogging since December 2016 and I’m loving it. I just love writing about whatever I want and I’ve enjoyed coming up with ideas for regular posts as well.

10. Which country are you from?

Britain. I have one English grandparent so mostly Scottish.

11. What du’a do you seem to make the most?

(Obviously you do not have to take part but I’d love to know your answers to my questions :D)

My questions:

  1. Do you prefer hot or cold weather?
  2. What are you most afraid of?
  3. What is your favourite animal?
  4. What is your favourite smell?
  5. Are you an early bird or a night owl?
  6. How many people have seen you cry?
  7. When was the last time you laughed until it hurt and what made you laugh?
  8. What book or film made you cry the most?
  9. What is your favourite time of day?
  10. If you could have any career or job you wanted, what would it be?
  11. If you were in a room with Donald Trump what would you say to him?

Thanks for reading and I look forward to reading your answers insha’Allah 🙂 ❤

Jazakullahu Khayran for the tag *hides face* I know it may not be that big a deal, and I don’t want to come across as being arrogant or anything like it, so may Allah (swt) forgive me if i still do, but it just means so much to me being number one for something!
